After two years of hard toil, a new roof and amazing amount of voluntary work, the Walkern Sports and Community Centre is on the verge of opening it’s doors for business. One of the first events will be the annual Ardeley and Walkern Cricket Club race night in March.

We’re aiming for the middle of March to at least open the doors for some events.
Just interested to know if this is the older Walkern sports and social club?Also if it is we used to see quite a few bands including Wilko Johnson.Are there any plans to have blues concerts again@ Thanks Martin
No it’s not the same organisation, the Sport and Social club fell out of existance over two years ago. The community centre may have the occassional band night in the future but will probbaly focus on local bands.
