Plans are now underway for the 2011 Walkern Fair.
Exciting events are now being organised for the 2011 Walkern Fair, which this year has a Royal theme. For the first time since 2005, the first Sunday in May also coincides with May Day, so we will be celebrating this auspicious date with the selection and crowning of our very own village May Queen. Click here to make your nominatation.
As the royal wedding is also this weekend, we have received special permission from Prince William to run a series of unique arena events known as the William and Kate Wedding Races.
You can register your entry through this website, or on the day, and there will be prizes for the most impressive performances.
The usual favourites will be there including side-shows, stalls and Heathlands Animal Sanctuary will be organising a Right Royal Dog Show which this year will include a new novelty category of the most Royal looking dog on the show. So start grooming your dogs now! After the Majestic Tug of War the Walkern Sports and Social Club will be organising an evening’s entertainment.
Walkern Fair is run by Walkern village for the benefit of the various clubs and charities that are central to our village way of life. If you would like to help in any way to make this the event of the year please call John on 861379 or Miki on 861654.
