Youth Club

The youth club is now open and runs on a Wednesday night . There are 2 sessions:

•  6:00pm to 7:30pm  for 8 to 13 year olds, younger children will be warmly welcomed but we
  would ask that parents stay
• 7:30pm to 9:30pm for 13 to 17 year olds

Everyone from Walkern and the surrounding villages ( Benington, Aston, Ardley, Wood End, Cottered ) are welcome along with their friends.

Each week there will be different activities including inside and outside games,Wii and Wii fit, Playstation, Art and hobbies, table tennis, bring your own music for the ipod player,chill out zone and tuck shop. There will
be competitions and other companies carrying out various activities like sport coaching, dance, drama, circus skills, graffiti art, film nights etc.

There is a small charge of 50p to cover running cost and all monies raised  go back into the Youth Club to buy equipment.

The youth club will not only be a hang out area but to meet and socialise with other youth, there will be education activities,  a nurse and police will have a drop in once a month, be part of the community, learn new sports and training.

The youth club is to be run by the youth with a youth committee formed and also an adult committee to oversee the running of the club. The youth committee have compiled a list of items and activities they would like.

The youth had a gig night raising in excess of £800.00 and we have had a donation from the ” Rotary club of Stevenage” for 3150.00. These monies have been used to buy equipment from the wish list. We are in the process
of constructing a BMX track and have been given some skateboard ramps.
